Edward's Orchard '10

This afternoon, since Chris happened to be home, we decided to go out to my favorite fall place of all, Edward's Orchard!  Every year we have fun taking pictures of Matthew with the pumpkins.  It has been sort of a tradition that started the first year of him wearing a "newsboy" hat.  We got some cute pics again this year, but boy did we have to work for it!  He is all boy, 2 years old, and just wanted to run around non stop!

Indiana Visit: Marengo Cave

During our visit to Southern Indiana, Chris and I were able to go one afternoon to Marengo Cave.  It was super neat!  There was only one other couple on the tour we were taking, so our guide let us go "off the path" a few times.  Caves truly are facinating.  I didn't know, but learned there are over 3000 caves in Southern Indiana alone!  Someday we would love to visit Mammoth Caves in Kentucky, where my parents honeymooned over 40 years ago...
A couple views inside the cave...

The "Penny Ceiling" where you can throw pennies up and they will stick...

Chris and I in the cave...

This picture doesn't do it justice, but the small water pools "mirror" the reflextion so well, it makes the cave feel twice as big...

Indiana Visit: Fishing

We had a great and relaxing mini-vacation last week visiting family on the farm in Southern Indiana.  Chris was able to fish in the pond out back of my Aunt and Uncle's house quite a bit, and Matthew also had fun learning to fish as well!  Here are some cute shots of them fishing one evening...

Chris shows Matthew one of the first fist he caught...you can tell he is not sure about the fish yet...

My two "boys" fishing...

In true "farm boy" fashion, Matthew gets a wee bit dirty after falling in the pond...

Our little "fisherman"...

Chris shows off his "large mouth bass"...

This was hilarious...after telling Matthew it was a nice fish, he came right up and planted a big 'ol kiss on it!

Baby at 28 Weeks

We had another good ultrasound this morning...baby measured right on track, and is about 2 pounds, 12 ounces right now.  I did technically "pass" my second glucose test, but my last draw was slightly elevated so my body does have some issue with processing sugar right now.  I really have to eat healthy, stay away from processed sugars and try to limit my intake of carbs.  Over all, things are going well though!

Chi-Town Get-Away

Finally getting around to blogging about our little pre-baby get-away we had last weekend in Chicago!  It was a fabulous time, despite poor Chris fighting a nasty cold.  Many thanks again to my Mom for watching Matthew for us.  We did a little shopping, ate at fun places, and even took a skyline boat tour at night that included fireworks!  I am looking forward to the day we can do it again in the future, sans being pregnant and kiddos.  Something tells me it might be awhile...

For dinner we ate at the Chicago Oven and Pizza Grinder, it was really good! Chris being goofy in front of the big Mediterranean bread...

Dessert was even better at Molly's Cupcakes!!

We got the Ron Bennington (peanut butter filled), and the Cookie Monster (cookie dough filled) cupcakes...

Sitting on the "swings" at Molly's...

The skyline boat tour at night off of Navy Pier was the highlight of the evening...

Me on the boat...

Fireworks!  They were quite impressive...

In the morning we had an awesome breakfast at Yolk.  Here was my eggs benedict plate...

Till next time Chicago...
