Please welcome Jacob Elliot Doherty!
Jacob was born on Thanksgiving Day (11-25-10), at 8:48pm, weighing 6 pounds 14 ounces, and 19 1/4 inches long. He was born via emergency c-section after being in labor all day. We are humbled at God's goodness, grace, and protection of life from start to finish of the pregnancy. We chose the name Jacob because we liked the name, and it was about the only one we could agree on! Also, Jacob was a man of God in the Bible, who finished strong. Elliot was given as a suggestion by our Pastor when we were trying to come up with names for Matthew when he was born. It is the English version of Elijah, meaning "My God is Jehovah". More posts and pics to come in the following days as time permits! We are adjusting to life with a newborn, but doing good over all...

Congratulations Beth! How wonderful that he is here safe and sound. He is adorable. Glad everything went well. I've had two emergency c-sections so I can relate to being in labor and then having a c-section too. Not fun. So did you go into labor on your own?
Hi Heather! Yes, my water broke early that morning...labor wasn't too bad, but then they put me on pitocin, and after several hrs it did start to hurt quite a bit. I kept spiking a high fever, then the baby's heart rate started dropping with every contraction, so they decided on the c-section. Good thing they did, I had something going on with the blood vessels in the bag of waters, that if they burst during natural delivery, we could have lost him. God is so good...He protected him! ;)
