One Thirsty Boy

Matthew was one thirsty little boy after the day at the park, and playing outside with the pool...

Bringing out the Pool

Matthew and Mommy...

Since it was such a hot spring day we decided to bring up the little kiddie pool we bought Matthew last summer. He was excited when he saw the water going in, but then after he felt the nice ice cold water, he decided maybe it wasn't such a good idea to go all the way in...ha...

Flushed

Here is Matthew after the Park...a little flushed, slightly sun-burned and one tired little boy!

Park Day

Away I go...
Having fun...
Up the slide...
Swinging with Mommy!
Stealing a cookie from Annalise...ha...

We had an absolute blast today playing at Alberdeen Park with friends. The weather was gorgeous...it got up to 82 today! Lots of sunblock for Matthew. :o)

Spring Flowers

Off I go to explore!

New Shoes

I'm so cool!

Matthew is finally walking pretty good, and needed real big boy shoes. He is modeling his new Stride Rite's that Grammy picked out for him one of the last times we were in GA. He wasn't so sure about them at first, but figured it out quickly, and off he went!

New Utensils

I picked up some new eating utensils for Matthew this week. He loves feeding himself! (Still with a lot of help from us though...) Here he is playing with them, and eating some gnocchi with tomato pancetta sauce I made this past week. (And no, it didn't stay this clean!)

Grilled Steak

Everything ready to go on the grill
The finished steak and plating below...

On of my favorite summer time meals is a recipe for grilled skirt steak with poblanos and onions. It was such a nice day, we decided to make it. I served it with black beans and rice, and sliced mango and papaya. So yummy! Let the warm weather and grilling commence...

Cheering Matthew Up

Matthew was one sick little boy today. Daddy tried to cheer him up outside with his favorite thing, bubbles! It was a gorgeous day.

Stuck in the South

Ribs are yummy!
Hello, anybody there??

Matthew and I were stuck in Georgia for two days trying to get home. All the flights were full. Our luggage went without us to O'Hare. Thankfully, I have wonderful parents who picked us up, and got take out from a local BBQ joint for dinner on Monday night. It was so good! Matthew loved the ribs. Great BBQ is a benefit of being stuck in the South if I do say so myself. The other pics are of Matthew acting like he is talking on the phone (he just started doing this), and playing in Papaw's boots.

Riding Black Beauty

My niece Haylie named the horsey tire swing in my parents backyard, Black Beauty. Matthew had fun swinging on it with Papaw.

Easter Morning Basket

My parents put together a cute little basket for Matthew for Easter morning. He had fun playing with the peep that "lit" up.

When Papaw Changes a Diaper...

My Dad was nice and watched Matthew for a few hours on Saturday afternoon so my Mom and I could shop at the outlets for a few hours. He changed Matthew's diaper while we were gone. When we undressed Matthew for his bath that evening, this is what we found...ha... Out of practice Dad?

Egg Hunt

I like blue shiny eggs!

On Saturday, it was my niece Haylie's 6th birthday! Matthew and I were excited to be there for the party. The kids had fun coloring eggs and various crafts, and an egg hunt.

Here is a pic of Matthew already getting his 3rd haircut this past weekend. As you can see, I am having fun with Picnik Premium!

Family Picnic

Have a cracker mommy...

Today we had a great time eating outside at Midway Village. It wasn't exactly warm, but it was nice none the less. Chris and I split a sub from Quiznos. Matthew had applesauce, cheese, crackers, and juice. We also went for a short walk afterward.

Swimsuit Modeling

Matthew that is...Here he is in his new euro boyshort swimtrunks from Boden. Love them! He has a few swim trunks already for our annual Hilton Head vacation, and Matthew and I have season passes to Magic Waters this summer!

Signs of Spring

All of the spring flowers are either up or about to bloom...the daffodils are so close to blooming, and the tulips are only a few weeks away. (Hopefully the SNOW we are suppose to get tomorrow tonight won't damage/delay the plants!)

Spring Cleaning

Well, we are in the middle of spring cleaning in the Doherty household. I am still not feeling the best, but I managed to dust the floorboards, while Chris windexed all the window on the inside. Matthew decided to help too, by emptying out his towel and washcloth drawer. (It was neatly folded and put away till he decided to "help".)
